AFS Notice of Election of Board Members and Officers

for 2026/2027

Pursuant to the Academy of Financial Services bylaws, Article VII Section 2, this is to notify you that there will be an election of new members to the Board of Directors of AFS and new Officers of the association for terms starting in 2026. 

Members of the Board of AFS must be active members of AFS and can be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague (with permission).  

In 2025, as the 40th anniversary year for AFS, we expanded the number of Board members by naming 5 additional individuals. For 2026 we will be reducing the Board back to 14 or 15 members total so there will be 6 or 7 vacancies to fill. 

At the same time, several Officer positions will be filled from existing or new Board members. 

• Shawn Brayman assumes the role of Immediate Past President (2026/2027)
• Michelle Cull, as President Elect, assumes the role of President (2026/2027)
• The following Officer roles are open for election:
• President Elect (2026/2027)
• VP Communication (2026/2027)
• VP Membership (2026)
• VP Marketing (2026/2027)
• Chair of the Australia-NZ Chapter (2026/2027)
• Other officer positions may open up if an existing Officer runs for a different role.

KEY DATES

• September 1st, nominations open
• October 15th, nominations close
• October 22nd, All video's and CV are posted, voting opens
• Nov 5th, voting closes
• Nov 12th, results announced
