Financial Services Review Welcomes New Editor-in-Chief

The Academy of Financial Services is delighted to announce that Dr Elisabeth Sinnewe has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Financial Services Review, effective July 2025.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Professor John Grable, who has served with distinction since late 2023. During his tenure, John was instrumental in the transition to Diamond Open Access, the introduction of the new OJS submission portal, and oversaw the publication of seven issues, significantly increasing the number of articles per issue. We’re pleased to share that John will continue contributing to FSR as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board.

“John has been inspirational to work with, and helped us reimagine Financial Services Review as an open access journal”, said Shawn Brayman, President of AFS. “We feel Dr. Sinnewe will bring a unique perspective to build on these advances to help us clearly position FSR as the global standard for peer-reviewed research for financial planners and the academics driving research for the profession.”

Looking ahead, my vision is to strengthen the journal’s impact and visibility in the field by promoting timely, rigorous, and practice-relevant research” , said Dr Sinnewe. Elisabeth is a Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology whose research spans financial literacy and education, with a strong emphasis on socio-behavioural and psychological dimensions of financial decision-making. In addition to her new editorial role, she serves as Chair of the Australia-New Zealand Chapter of AFS and sits on the AFS board.
