Call for Papers: AFS Australia-New Zealand Personal Finance and Investment Symposium 2025

We invite paper submissions for the upcoming Personal Finance and Investment Symposium.  The symposium is part of the annual Australia-New Zealand Chapter meeting, scheduled to take place from November 16 to 17, 2025, in Perth, Australia. We invite submissions from academics and practitioners worldwide to exchange new insights, practical reflections, and critical perspectives on personal finance and investment.

Abstract Submission Deadline: August 29, 2025

Notification of Acceptance: September 19, 2025

Full Paper Submission Deadline: November 14, 2025

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts: Authors are invited to submit a structured abstract of up to 1,000 words, following the outline below: 1. Research overview, including the research question(s) and any hypotheses; 2. Data description; 3. Research method overview; 4. Summary of (expected) key findings; and 5. Practical implications for financial planning.

Please submit your abstracts via email to conference@academyfinancial.org.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

Conference Details

A draft program will be released in early November. Attendees must register through Humantix. A registration link will be made available soon. More details will be released closer to the date.

Full Papers

Upon acceptance of abstracts, authors are encouraged to submit their full paper to the Financial Planning Research Journal (FPRJ) or Financial Services Review (FSR) portal with the acknowledgment that they are presenting at AFS-ANZ PFIS.
